Actinic keratosis
At Clinique Laflamme, we provide specialized care for actinic keratosis, whether presenting as subtle or more extensive lesions. Our approach is based on a personalized assessment and the use of advanced technologies, aimed at preserving the long-term health and appearance of your skin.
CONDITIONS COVERED
The condition
Actinic keratosis is a skin alteration caused by chronic exposure to ultraviolet (UV) rays. It develops slowly over time and primarily appears on the most exposed areas, including the face, scalp, ears, hands, and forearms.
In its early stages, the lesion is often barely visible but can be felt as rough or scaly patches. It may have a pink or reddish hue, gradually thicken, and, in some cases, become sensitive or prone to minor bleeding. Multiple lesions can coexist. Some keratoses may also be partially hidden under brown pigmentation, which can cause confusion and delay identification. This is why a thorough evaluation is essential to ensure an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management.
Without treatment, some actinic keratoses can progress over time, leading to deeper skin changes associated with abnormal cell growth. In certain cases, this progression may result in more serious skin conditions that require more complex medical interventions.
INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY
Our approach
At Clinique Laflamme, the assessment of skin lesions is part of a rigorous, preventive, and personalized medical approach, where safety, precision, and skin quality are at the heart of every decision.
Early medical evaluation allows for the identification of high-risk lesions, targeted intervention, and a significant reduction in the likelihood of progression to more serious skin conditions, while preserving the quality and integrity of the skin.
Intervening at an early stage promotes optimal clinical and aesthetic outcomes. Prevention is based on strict photoprotection and regular skin monitoring.
TREATMENT PLAN
In-depth assessment
Care is individualized based on the number, extent, and stage of the lesions. A consultation, including a photo-laboratory analysis, allows for a comprehensive assessment and the proposal of a tailored management plan.
This thorough evaluation makes it possible to define a targeted treatment plan for each patient, optimizing clinical and aesthetic outcomes while minimizing the impact on healthy skin.
