CONDITIONS COVERED
The condition
Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory skin disease that poses a significant challenge for many individuals. Primarily affecting people aged 30 to 50, with a higher prevalence among those with fair skin, it is characterized by persistent inflammation and skin distortion, notably in the form of a “bulbous nose.” Triggers include factors such as alcohol consumption, female hormones, sun exposure, stress, exercise, spicy food, and temperature changes. Even when avoiding these triggers, the progression of rosacea remains uncertain, necessitating professional intervention to mitigate its effects and improve quality of life.
INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY
Our approach
To effectively address rosacea, our approach focuses on personalized treatments aimed at alleviating symptoms and improving skin appearance. By using topical or systemic antibiotics, we tailor prescriptions based on the severity of the disease flare-ups. Additionally, the use of specific creams helps to calm inflammation and reduce the redness associated with rosacea.
In parallel, we integrate intense pulsed light technology into our therapeutic arsenal. Using the Sciton medical platform equipped with BroadBand Light (BBL), we selectively target aspects of rosacea such as redness and hyperpigmentation while preserving the overall health of the skin. This safe and effective approach allows us to treat various skin issues, including rosacea. For more complex cases, particularly those with a phymatous appearance, we employ advanced technologies such as Pixel, Morpheus, and CO2 laser, providing solutions to improve the texture and size of the nose while evening out the skin tissue.
TREATMENT PLAN
In-depth assessment
To manage and alleviate rosacea, we use topical or systemic antibiotics as needed. Specific creams and intense pulsed light (IPL) treatments, applied one to four times a year, are effective options. In severe cases, a series of treatments may be necessary. We are also equipped to address the phymatous aspect of rosacea with advanced technologies such as Morpheus, Pixel, and CO2 laser, which can reduce the size of the nose and improve its hypertrophied appearance.
